But these seemingly barren landscapes are also home to a diversity of wildlife. The ice cold Arctic waters swarm with life. The Northern Lights are the most beautiful and mystifying color spectacles of the world. A big snow owl spreads its wings and beholds the impressive frozen plains.

SUPERNOVA (Nederlands)
Er waait een ijzige wind over de besneeuwde vlaktes van Siberië. Stormwinden gieren over het eenzame landschap. De onherbergzame poolgebieden ondergaan het extreme klimaat en de intense grillen van Moeder Natuur. En af en toe kreunt de aarde, wanneer de ijsmassa dreigt te smelten.
Maar het adembenemende landschap is eveneens de thuishaven van vele dieren. In de ijskoude Antarctische wateren krioelt het van het leven. Het poollicht zorgt steeds voor een prachtig kleurenspektakel. Een grote sneeuwuil spreidt zijn vleugels en aanschouwt de indrukwekkende bevroren aarde.
